Prolific Offender arrested & sentenced over Christmas |
Dear all,
We hope you have had a peaceful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. Whilst many of us enjoy some well deserved rest during this period, policing is a 24/7 business, as this most recent arrest demonstrates. On the 23rd December, officers from the Territorial Support Group were on patrol around Rochester Row, SW1 when they spotted two males suspected to be consuming drugs. Officers stopped & searched the males, one of whom, Bernard Prebble, of No Fixed Abode, was in possession of cannabis. He was obstructive during the search, and was swiftly arrested for obstructing a constable and possession of Class B. A check on the Police National Computer revealed that Prebble was also wanted for breaching a court order, as well as being in breach of a civil injunction, and thus was further arrested for this offence. Prebble was charged and remanded overnight in custody for these offences, appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on the morning of Christmas Eve. He was sentenced for these offences that same day, and is now serving a 13 week sentence in prison. Prebble is a prolific offender and is subject to a Civil Injunction (with power of arrest) from Westminster City Council, which prohibits him from being within the wards of Pimlico North, Vincent Square and St James's. This arrest and sentencing demonstrates our year-round commitment to bringing offenders in the area to justice. Thanks as always for your support in helping us to keep our community safe; here's to a prosperous 2026.
